What maps do you guys play in StarCraft II, besides the obvious? (We all know THE Card Game is the best.) Please include a short description.
Income Wars
Use your Chooser to spawn units on the battlefield, which also increases your income. After a short time you can already send entire armies at once to try to destroy the enemy Fortress.
Battles of epic proportions are guaranteed, so don't play if your PC can't handle it.
Players: max 3 vs. 3 (2 teams)
Nexus Wars
Build structures that automatically spawn units and generate income. Destroy the enemy Nexus and protect your own to win.
Huge armies are no rarity.
Players: max 4 vs. 4 (2 teams)
Wintermaul: The Remake
A remake of a WarCraft III map that had many different versions (Pokemaul Sapphire and Kindergarten TD being my favorite maps of all times).
Unfortunately, the remake isn't that great. There's just a very limited number of Maze TDs in StarCraft II compared to WarCraft III.
Build a maze of towers to stop evil forces from reaching the end of their path. You can choose from several different races.
Players: max 9 (I think) vs. PC (team TD)
Bardocks TD
Choose the Survival Mode to fight waves of enemies.
Choose the Versus Mode to play against other players, sending them waves of units to reduce their lives and boost your own income.
Mazing is not possible; the path itself is a maze.
Players:
- Survival Mode: max 4 vs. PC (survival TD)
- Versus Mode: max 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 vs. 1 (total 4)
GreenTD
A remake of a WarCraft III classic. The original was more fun to play, but the remake contains a very large variety of units (from the mighty Terra-Tron to units from World of WarCraft).
Build and upgrade different towers to destroy waves of enemies before they reach their goal.
Players: max 9 vs. PC (team TD)
Element Tower Defense
A very fun map with a great variety of towers and creeps. There are countless strategies to reach the goal, an interesting income system and different game modes.
Players: max 8 vs. PC (survival TD)
Desert Strike
Income Wars meets Nexus Wars. Build structures to spawn units (like NW) on a separated area of the map (like IW), where they fight each other. I haven't played it a lot yet, but it seems to be fun.
Players: max 3 vs. 3 (2 teams)
Squadron Tower Defense
It's not really a TD. The "Towers" you build become units during every wave. These units attack creeps but are also attacked by them (don't worry, they respawn every round). There are several races to choose from, which you unlock with experience. Besides building defense, you can also send units to the enemy team or invest in upgrades. These things cost vespene, which you gather with SCVs. There are also different game modes.
